Doing what I thought was impossible in asterisk
I've spent a string of late nights and early mornings with the talented David Rowe, watching him first - get Asterisk running on one weird looking DSP, (an Analog Devices Blackfin) - and secondly - obsess over getting it to run codecs like gsm and speex really, really, really fast. Lots of funky tricks and code are documented in his "Beer, Coffee, and a Little DSP" blog.
