taking a brief break from health care for something more geeky
My last post gathered a lot of great comments and the debate continues, hot and heavy, on the subject of health care.I surfaced for a little while, and spotted something that appealed to my ha ha only serious and geeky nature... if you don't know who's in the photograph, you won't get the joke.
OK, I return now to some voluminous commenting on health care.

Welp, Sinuses are clear now.
That Rocks!
But Hey, why is it Sarcasm? This (now soggy) laptop came with Vista ... it was one of the models that was listed in the Class Action suit against "Vista Ready". My ass, the Max Ram on this machine is 2GB and it came with one, which is enough to Boot to Vista but forget running GIMP (Gods forbid actual Photoshop), Office Applications (pick any two from MS or Open Office), My Firefox (I have a couple of plugins, *ahem*), Thunderbird (few more Plugins), some Acrobat Readers, a shell or three (Cygwin), a programming editor (as good as they get in Windows anyway) and Look! I have a 3GB Page File and my Dual Core 2.2GHz CPUs run like a 486DX2/66 and is Still Butt-Ugly. WTF?
Meanwhile, I was running Windows 7 RC2 in a little VM, smashed into 1GB of Ram and opened all of that PLUS my regular Linux session(s) and it was still pretty speedy. I'm actually happy with it and get This one, you may wish to sit down, and you might want a stiff drink first : I'm going to purchase a legal license, from the store, in a shrink-wrapped box, of Microsoft Windows 7.

See, what Linus is saying here is that it's the End of Vista! We should all Rejoice and Celebrate!
Vista was just bad. Marketing was bad. Code is hideous (as usual). Performance is crap (at the risk of repeating myself). It's STILL ugly (man I'm just a fountain of The Obvious today). And as always, a new version of Windows means scrap your hardware and upgrade. I am reasonably certain that this is the first version of Windows since 3.11 that didn't eat resources like a `57 Chevy eats gas and oil.
So you've got it all Wrong, Linus is Stoked!

Ok, I can't keep a straight face anymore ... that was too much bullshit even for me ... need my waders because it's pretty deep in here right now. :)
Oh yeah : 172lbs (78.2 Kilos), but it's winter and I'm in the midwest so I'm likely to pack on another 10 pounds in the next month or so ... You said "Weigh-In" ...
